About me

»I believe stories make a difference.«

Hi! I’m Starcat, and I truly believe in the power of stories. That’s why I create narrative games – point-and-click adventures, visual novels, you name it – alongside writing speculative fiction: short stories and novels.

Born in Germany in the 80s, I’m a bit of a retro nerd at heart! I grew up with the LucasArts and Sierra games. But beyond glowing pixels, it was always stories that truly fascinated me. That passion for narrative and creativity is what sparked my journey into game development way back in 1999. And where did I start? On the infamous Atari Jaguar console, teaching myself assembly code at the age of fourteen! It was a steep learning curve, but that experience ignited a lifelong passion for bringing ideas to life and telling stories through games. Over the years, I’ve soaked up games on about every platform you can think of, studied game design at university, and I worked for a small game studio for a little while.

These days, I love using my experience to help fellow indie developers shine and get the most out of their games. And after all these years, I finally build my own games and share those stories I’ve always wanted to tell.

If you’re enjoying my work, please come along for the ride on Patreon! Or if you’d like to support me directly, you can also do that via Ko-Fi.
